Active veterans from the ”hot swing” times in Hanover together with internationally famous jazz musicians let the good times roll again in this documentary. They tell of how they managed to survive with this music between the late 30’s and the first post-war years. And they also tell about how jazz came to be an international form of music, as it still is today, also in Germany after its liberation in 1945. And as this film is all about music, the viewer is naturally invited to hear of the music of Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Irving Berlin, Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet and Dizzy Gillespie, and to see just how their music is played by outstanding musicians.
