Die niedersächsische Filmlandschaft lebt - das ergibt die diesjährige ”8. Inventur”: mit einer stolzen Bilanz von mehr als 40 Produktionen aus dem vergangenen Jahr. In Hannover werden allein 17 Premieren zu sehen sein. Es scheint so, dass sich ein neues Genre herausbildet: der regional geprägte Dokumentarfilm, der aber nicht mit dem klassischen Heimatfilm der fünfziger Jahre zu verwechseln ist. Da wird der abenteuerliche Weg des dienstältesten Schiffes der Welt in dem Film DIE LANGE FAHRT DER GRAF GÖTZEN - VON PAPENBURG NACH AFRIKA nachgezeichnet. Und in EIN SCHAF BITTE! - UNTERWEGS MIT DEM SCHERER FRED WACHSMUTH sehen wir die Welt aus der Sicht des Landmenschen. Mit Neugier und einem gewissen Stolz blättere ich in der diesjährigen Programmübersicht – schließlich leistet der Norddeutsche Rundfunk einen erheblichen finanziellen Beitrag dazu, dass Filmkultur in Niedersachsen gepflegt und gefördert werden kann. Nicht ganz uneigennützig – wir machen die Produktionen auch gerne in unserem Fernsehprogramm unserem großen Zuschauerkreis zugänglich. Ich wünsche Ihnen spannende Einblicke bei der ”Filmschau Niedersachsen - Inventur 8” in Hannover. The film landscape in Lower Saxony is vibrant with life – this is confirmed by this year’s ”8th Inventur”: with a proud balance of more than 40 productions last year. In Hanover alone, 17 premieres will feature in this year’s programme. It would appear that a new genre has emerged: the regionally-oriented documentary, which must not be mistaken for the classical, sentimental regional film of the fiftees. This is typically illustrated by the adventurous journey of the world’s oldest ship still in service in the film THE LONG JOURNEY OF THE ”GRAF GÖTZEN” – FROM PAPENBURG TO AFRICA. And in A SHEEP PLEASE! – ON THE ROAD WITH THE SHEEPSHEARER FRED WACHSMUTH we view the world through the eyes of a simple country person. I flick through the pages of this year’s programme overview not only with inquisitiveness but also with a certain sense of pride – bearing in mind that the North German Broadcasting Corporation makes a considerable financial contribution towards the cultivation and funding of film culture in Lower Saxony. Not altogether unprofitable for us – as we are also pleased to include productions in our television programme so as to make them accessible to our large circle of viewers.
