Freundinnen und Freunden des Films wünsche ich unterhaltsame Stunden auf
der "Filmschau Niedersachsen - Inventur 7“. Der NDR fördert nun bereits
seit fünf Jahren das Filmschaffen in seinem größten Staatsvertragsland.
Ich freue mich darüber, welch breites künstlerisches Spektrum sich in
dieser Zeit entfaltet hat: Es gibt in diesem Jahr so viele Beiträge wie
noch nie. In Hannover sind mehrere Erstaufführungen zu sehen, gezeigt
werden Kinospielfilme, Fernsehspiele, Dokumentar- und Kurzfilme. Die Erzählweisen
sind wie immer unterschiedlich: Konventionelle und experimentelle Erzählweisen
finden auf der Filmschau ihren Platz und - hoffentlich auch - ihre Zuschauer.
Kommunikation über den Film spielt eine große Rolle: Regisseurinnen und Regisseure werden über ihre Arbeiten mit den Zuschauern diskutieren. Der NDR leistet bewusst einen Beitrag dazu, die Filmkultur in der Region zu unterstützen - auch der Film wiederum kann von der Region profitieren. Dass sehr viele Filme der Inventur an niedersächsischen Drehorten entstanden, ist deshalb genau richtig: Gedreht wurde unter anderem in der Lüneburger Heide, dem Landkreis Lüchow-Dannenberg, der Elbtalaue, aber auch in Städten wie Göttingen und Wolfenbüttel. Besonders am Herzen liegen dem NDR naturgemäß Produktionen, die er in seinem Programm einsetzen kann: Ich möchte hier vor allem die Verwechslungskomödie SCHMIDT IST BILLIGER von Berndt List sowie den Psychothriller EIN TÖDLICHES WOCHENENDE von Torsten C. Fischer empfehlen, die beide in der Lüneburger Heide spielen. Und zuletzt möchte ich Sie noch auf eine besondere Reportage über einen besonderen Berufsalltag hinweisen: Das ist der Film VOM KINDERKRIEGEN von Anke Quast und Knut Gminder. Die beiden Autoren haben drei Landhebammen im Landkreis Lüchow-Dannenberg bei ihrer Arbeit begleitet. The NDR (North German Broadcasting Corporation) has sponsored film productions in its largest contractual state over the past five years. I am delighted to witness the broad artistic spectrum which has unfolded during this time: there are more contributions this year than ever before. This year’s programme includes many premieres; the films on presentation in Hanover include cinema features, television features, documentaries and short films. As always, the narrative styles are very different: both conventional and experimental films find their place at the film exhibition and - hopefully also - their audience. Communication on the films presented plays an important role: directors will discuss their work with film viewers. The NDR consciously makes a contribution towards supporting film culture in the region - and films, in turn, may also profit from the region. The fact that many of the productions included in this year’s Inventur were filmed at locations in Lower Saxony is thus a positive sign: amongst others locations, films were shot in the Lüneburg Heath, the district of Lüchow-Dannenberg and the Elbe valley meadowlands as well as in towns such as Göttingen and Wolfenbüttel. Naturally, the NDR is particularly enthusiastic about productions which can be included in its programme: I especially recommend the comedy of mistaken identity SCHMIDT IS CHEAPER by Berndt List as well as the psycho-thriller A DEATHLY WEEKEND by Torsten C. Fischer, both of which are staged in the Lüneburg Heath. And finally, I would like to draw your attention to a special coverage of a special type of everyday work: this is the film ON GIVING BIRTH by Anke Quast and Knut Gminder.
