WARTEN AUF EIN NEUES LEBEN / WAITING FOR A NEW LIFE
ALLTAG IM TRANSPLANTATIONSZENTRUM HANNOVER
EVERYDAY LIFE IN THE HANOVER TRANSPLANT CENTRE
Dokumentarfilm/documentary
Deutschland/Germany 1999/2000, Beta SP, 58 min.
Human organs are in short supply. Even 30 years after the first heart
transplant, demand and supply have not yet reached a balance. This applies
to all organs which may now be transplanted. The donation of organs is
a social undertaking, which, unfortunately, has not yet been recognised
as such in all hospitals. Only one half of all potential organ donors
are registered and have been beneficial in transplant operations. Even
though the Hanover University Hospital is only one amongst many transplant
centres in Germany, it has performed pioneering work in this field. It
still remains the centre which has performed the majority of organ transplants
and has the largest amount of experience in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Vorführung: 11.03.2000, 20.30 Uhr, Theatermuseum im Schauspielhaus
